Why PixNudge
100% private
Compression runs on your device. Your photos are never uploaded, stored or shared.
Never makes files bigger
If an image is already well optimized, PixNudge keeps the original instead of giving you a larger file.
Professional encoders
MozJPEG, libwebp, AVIF and OxiPNG — the same engines used by image experts — produce smaller files than a normal browser export.
Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. PixNudge compresses images inside your browser. The files never leave your device and are not stored anywhere.
Will compression reduce image quality?
The Balanced and High quality levels keep the original dimensions and make changes that are hard to notice. Smallest file compresses harder and scales very large images down to 1920 pixels.
How do I compress an image to 100 KB, 50 KB or another size?
Choose Target size, enter the maximum size in KB or pick one of the presets, then add your images. PixNudge searches for the best quality that fits, and only scales the image down if even the lowest quality is still too large.
Which formats can I compress?
You can compress JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF and HEIC images. By default the output keeps the original format (HEIC becomes JPG), but you can also save as JPG, PNG, WebP or AVIF.
Why is my PNG barely smaller?
Balanced and Smallest file reduce PNGs to 256 colors, which works very well for logos, icons and screenshots. Photos saved as PNG have too many colors for that — converting them to JPG, WebP or AVIF gives a much smaller file.
Is photo information like GPS location removed?
Yes. By default all EXIF metadata, including GPS location and camera details, is removed. If you need it, turn on Keep photo info (EXIF) — this works when the original and the output are both JPG.
