Frequently asked questions
Can I convert YAML back to JSON?
Yes. Switch the direction to YAML → JSON. A file with several YAML documents separated by --- becomes a JSON array.
Are YAML comments kept?
No. JSON has no comments, so comments in YAML are dropped when converting to JSON.
Why are some strings in quotes?
Values like yes, no, on, 1.0 or 2024-01-01 would be read as booleans, numbers or dates in YAML, so they are quoted to stay strings.
