Frequently asked questions
How are identifiers like getHTTPResponse split into words?
Words are separated at spaces, punctuation, underscores and hyphens, and at changes from lower to upper case. Acronyms stay together, so getHTTPResponse becomes get_http_response in snake_case.
Are several lines converted separately?
Yes. For programming styles such as camelCase or snake_case, each line is converted on its own, so you can convert a whole list of names at once.
Does Title Case follow a style guide?
No. It capitalizes the first letter of every word, which works in any language. Style guides such as AP or Chicago keep short words like "of" lowercase; adjust those by hand if needed.
