PixNudge

Strong password generator

Generate secure random passwords with the length and characters you choose. Passwords are created on your device with a cryptographic random generator.

Characters

Very strong · 130 bits

Generated on your device with a cryptographic random generator. Nothing is sent or stored.

    How it works

    1. 1

      Choose the length

Longer is stronger. 16 characters or more is a good choice for important accounts.

    2. 2

      Pick the characters

Use upper and lower case letters, digits and symbols, and leave out characters that a website does not accept.

    3. 3

      Copy and save

Copy a password with one click and store it in your password manager.

    Why PixNudge

    Truly random

Passwords come from your browser's cryptographic random generator, the same source used for encryption keys.

    Never transmitted

Passwords are generated on your device and never sent anywhere or stored.

    Fits any site

Exclude similar-looking or forbidden characters and still get a password that contains every chosen type.

    Frequently asked questions

How long should a password be?

At least 12 characters, better 16 or more. Each extra character makes a password much harder to crack than adding a symbol.

Is it safe to generate passwords online?

With this tool, yes: passwords are created by your own browser with crypto.getRandomValues and never leave your device. You can even disconnect from the internet before generating.

What does the strength in bits mean?

It is the entropy: the number of guesses an attacker would need, as a power of two. 70 bits or more is strong; 100 bits or more is out of reach for any attacker.

    Why avoid ambiguous characters?

Characters such as l, 1, I, O and 0 look alike in many fonts. Leaving them out helps when a password has to be read or typed by hand.
