Frequently asked questions
How do I put a password on a PDF?
Open the PDF, enter the password twice and click Protect PDF. The downloaded file asks for the password whenever it is opened.
How secure is it?
The file is encrypted with AES-256, the strongest standard PDF encryption. A long password with words, numbers and symbols cannot practically be guessed.
What do the restrictions do?
They tell PDF viewers not to allow printing, copying or editing. Reputable viewers respect them, but they are not as strong as the open password.
