Frequently asked questions

Which color formats can I enter?

Anything your browser understands as a CSS color: hex codes with or without #, rgb(), hsl(), hwb(), lab(), lch(), oklch(), color() and the 148 named colors such as rebeccapurple.

What do the contrast badges mean?

WCAG 2 requires a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 for normal text (AA), 3:1 for large text and 7:1 for the stricter AAA level. The badges show which levels the color passes as text on white and on black.

Is the CMYK value print-ready?

It is a simple mathematical conversion without a color profile. Printers use profiles such as FOGRA or GRACoL, so ask your print shop or convert in a design tool for exact print colors.
