Frequently asked questions
Does formatting change how my page looks?
Formatting adds line breaks and indentation between block elements. Browsers ignore that whitespace in most places, and content inside pre and textarea is left untouched.
What does the HTML minifier remove?
Comments (except conditional comments), whitespace between block-level elements and repeated spaces in text and tags. Content of script, style, pre and textarea is kept as is.
Are inline scripts and styles formatted too?
Yes. When formatting, CSS inside style tags and JavaScript inside script tags are indented as well.
