JSON to TOON Converter (and TOON to JSON)

Convert JSON to TOON, the compact Token-Oriented Object Notation for LLM prompts, and convert TOON back to JSON. Lists of similar objects become tables, which saves tokens.

Why PixNudge

Nothing is uploaded

Your data is processed in your browser and never sent to a server, so API keys, tokens and customer data stay private.

Instant, even for large files

There is no round trip to a server: results appear as you type, and files of several megabytes are handled smoothly.

Exact numbers

Long numbers such as 64-bit IDs are kept exactly as written instead of being rounded.

Frequently asked questions

What is TOON?

TOON (Token-Oriented Object Notation) is a compact way to write JSON data for large language models. It uses indentation instead of braces and writes lists of similar objects as a table with a single header row.

Why use TOON in prompts?

Keys are written once per table instead of once per item, so TOON usually needs far fewer tokens than JSON for lists of records. That lowers the cost and leaves more room in the context window.

Can TOON be converted back to JSON without loss?

Yes. TOON describes the same data as JSON, so converting JSON to TOON and back gives you the same data.
