Frequently asked questions

What is JSONPath?

JSONPath is a query language for JSON, similar to XPath for XML. An expression such as $.store.book[0].title starts at the root ($) and selects values by key, index, wildcard (*) or filter.

How do I filter an array?

Use a filter expression: $..book[?(@.price < 10)] returns every book that costs less than 10, and $..book[?(@.isbn)] returns the books that have an isbn. @ stands for the current item.

How do I see where each match was found?

Switch the result to Paths to see the location of every match, for example $['store']['book'][0]['price'].
