JSON to Properties Converter (and Properties to JSON)
Convert JSON to Java .properties files and .properties files to JSON. Nested keys use dot notation, as in Spring Boot's application.properties.

Why PixNudge
Nothing is uploaded
Your data is processed in your browser and never sent to a server, so API keys, tokens and customer data stay private.
Instant, even for large files
There is no round trip to a server: results appear as you type, and files of several megabytes are handled smoothly.
Exact numbers
Long numbers such as 64-bit IDs are kept exactly as written instead of being rounded.
Frequently asked questions
How are nested objects and lists written?
Nested keys are joined with dots and list items get an index, so {"app": {"admins": ["ana"]}} becomes app.admins[0]=ana, the format used by Spring Boot.
Are comments and escapes supported?
Yes. Lines starting with # or ! are comments, a backslash at the end of a line continues it on the next line, and escapes such as \n and \u00e9 are decoded. Keys can be separated from values by =, : or a space.
When should I escape non-ASCII characters?
Java 8 and older read .properties files as ISO-8859-1. Turn on Escape non-ASCII to write characters such as é as \u00e9, so the file works everywhere.
